Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.)
What am I doing? What’s my purpose? When will I meet my goals? How am I sharing God’s love and truth on this earth? Ever ask yourself these questions?
Lets be real – we ALL do. Some days I wonder what I’m doing to further His kingdom and honestly, I can feel pretty insignificant. It’s pretty much a cycle of nursing, feeding snacks, changing diapers, cleaning, putting kids down for a nap, playing outdoors, up at night with them, creating activities to challenge my children etc….24/7 What’s so important about that?
God spoke to me as I was mopping the kitchen the other morning. I was feeling unimportant (which is totally normal for everyone at times) and He spoke to me and greatly blessed my heart. It went like this:
“Daughter, you are responsible for setting the atmosphere and tone of your home. Do not think what you do in your home goes unseen or unappreciated. When your husband comes home the air should be easy to breathe and my presence should be felt.”
WOW! That’s a HUGE responsibility and isn’t something small at all! God has placed me in our home to be the “tone setter” If I’m nagging or fussing – that’s the atmosphere of my home. If I’m humble, joyful and servantminded – there is peace. If I’m warm and accepting – there is love.
This season of my life is so important and while I may be covered in spit up and have baby food tossed in my hair…it’s HUGE because God has called me to raise children that serve and love Him. He’s called me to love and serve my husband. My children are going to act by my actions and speak by my words so they better be pure, holy and honoring to HIM.
A soothing tongue is a tree of life, But perversion in it crushes the spirit.)
We haven’t “arrived” nor will we ever until we meet Him face to face. Embrace each season God has given you and “grow where you’re planted”. You will experience fullfilment and see fruit in some seasons while others are for you to PLANT seeds.
*My challenge for you women and mothers is to LOVE and seek God like never before, ADORE and serve your husbands with pure intentions, DISCIPLE and hug your little ones and the fruit of the seeds you have been planting will GROW.
